Inspiring others to accomplish something great exists as the primary mission of Joseph Long, a Managing Director at Strategies for Wealth. Whether it means giving clients the ability to say yes, or partnering with existing or potential advisors to have their best year on record, if those he influences are positively impacted, then Joe is leading a remarkable life.
Changing the Income Game for Clients
The adage that “offense wins games, defense wins championships” guides Joe’s work. His financial planning practice focuses primarily on ensuring a perpetual and continuous flow of income. As the road to financial success never presents a perfectly straight line, his priority is to eliminate all threats to income at any possible point in the lifecycle. This focus on cash flow, rather than rate of return, has made Joe distinct within the industry.
Team Captain for Advisors
As a team leader, coach, trainer, and mentor to his team of financial advisors, Joe focuses on playing defense first during the difficult times when stress levels are high and motivation wanes. Having been through numerous business cycles himself, Joe is prepared to be the first line of defense to the advisor’s confidence as their empathetic mentor and coach. By protecting his advisors from the devastating impact of the low points, Joe empowers them to reach their highest potential and accomplish outstanding feats for those whom they serve. Joe also applies his coaching expertise to building strategic alliances with brokers from outside the Strategies for Wealth community looking to take their practice to new heights through product partnerships that build accretive value.
Prior to Strategies for Wealth, Joe owned a restaurant in Hastings-on-Hudson and held various roles in mortgage lending. Joe holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses, as well as insurance licenses in several states, while maintaining the Retirement Income Certified Professional, RICP® designation. Joe is an Approved Continuing Education Provider for Life, Accident, and Health in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. A graduate of Union College, Joe and wife Julia live in Carmel, NY with their two sons and two Siberian Huskies.
